Review of Dorohedoro
There's a lot to like about Dorehedoro. I'll start off with the things I liked and then get to the few aspects I had problems with. The series has tons of creativity. Seriously, this show had more creativity in one frame than I’ve seen in whole episodes from other anime (or is it animes? I’m not sure what the plural of anime is). It feels like something Vertigo would publish in the 90s and I mean that as a compliment. The characters were a bit flat but endearing. I was rooting for them by the end. Unfortunately, the strangeness makes it a little confusing attimes. But with stories like this, plot is secondary. You just have to go with it. The CGI can be off-putting at times but doesn’t get in the way too much. I think most people have already decided if an anime about a guy with a lizard head and a gangster who turns people in mushrooms is for them. For what it’s worth, I had fun with it.
Not much needs to be said about the OVA. It's fine. The animation isn't great, but I liked the shorts. It didn't impact my opinion of the series as a whole.
