As a huge fan of Excel Saga, I felt like I kind of had to read Municipal Force Daitenzin, the original doujin that would be refined and developed into Koshi Rikdo's comedic classic. MFD is - first and foremost - porn, which uses sentai/tokusatsu tropes as a backdrop for its steamy scenes. However, what story there *is* isn't much to write home about. It has some good jokes here and there, and it's interesting to see Excel Saga's roots, but it's still a little rough. I didn't hate it by any means, but I wouldn't have given this a second look if I wasn't already an ExcelSaga fan. A fun historical curiosity and I can't deny its importance, but I'm not sure I can strongly recommend it to anyone but Excel Saga superfans like myself.
