This mange is a bit of a brutal and relentless read, and most of the characters are dumb (for good reason, as they are young), which makes them a bit less likeable. What saves this manga is that characters making dumb decisions has actual consequences, which makes the fantasy world feel a lot more real. The themes of saving or destroying a soul are obviously deeply spiritual in nature, and gives a slight twist to the interaction with the nature of death, both for the dead and for the living. I'll try to update once I make more progress. The art is passable, generally skilled soas not to distract from the story and the definition of the different characters.
