The Scandalous Saeki Wants to Fall in Love with Him · review
For a one-shot, I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. It’s one of those stories that manages to be as good as it can within the limits of its short length. I’ve noticed that in many short-chaptered same-sex love manga, there’s usually one character whose personality I really like and another who feels a bit lacking. In this case, I was surprised to find that I didn’t particularly like the class president, but I was much more drawn to the school player’s story. He’s portrayed as someone who feels people only like him for his looks and nothing more, at least until he meets the classpresident. His feelings and growth throughout the manga were, in my opinion, the only ones with genuine development. I found his quiet pining after the class president wholesome and cute.
Overall, the story itself felt just “okay” to me, but if you’re looking for something short, cute, mildly fluffy, and quick to read, this BL one-shot might be worth picking up.
