Interesting. Clearly an ancestor to "Itsudemo Jitaku ni Kaereru Ore wa, Isekai de Gyoushounin wo Hajimemashita". It's my enjoyment of that other world peddler that lead me to pick this up. It does lot of things interestingly. The art is excellent. The pacing is mostly fine. The real failings are the character designs and the side characters. I really do want to read more female isekais but all the ones that are meeting my requirements do the _lean to loli_. A flat chested character that looks 12 and is treated like they're 10 even though they're 18-22. And at least 10% of the jokesin the first 20 chapters will be about how they wish they weren't so literally flatchested. It's a real needler not even because I care most of the time. At least it's not the mysterious egg that hatches into a girl and two months later is a full grown woman with the mind of a 2 year old. Or the 200 year old witch with the body of a 7 year old. But it gets annoying to read over and over again how the main character wishes they had boobs like LITERALLY EVERY OTHER CHARACTER IN THE SERIES.

That out of the way again the art is fun. The premise is compelling. Problem is the actual narrative both sidesteps problems and creates problems. Mitsuha our plucky heroine will both decide not to bring certain objects from Japan to the other world so as not to upset the balance and because it would make things "less fun" and then later one will ignore that advice. When it's to save the kingdom from the horrors of mercantilism it makes sense. When it's to have a boss party that leads to everyone hounding for those supplies it makes less sense.

This both strikes out at new territory while also being too safe to be meaty. It's just reductive in a way that something like "Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta" or "Itsudemo Jitaku ni Kaereru Ore wa, Isekai de Gyoushounin wo Hajimemashita" or "Level 1 dakedo Unique Skill de Saikyou desu" isn't. It's close to "Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita" with guns. So you end up with something that on paper is different. Looks great. doesn't really struggle or limp along more than a bad chapter or 2 maybe 3 before getting back on track. But in spite of the fact that the main character understands every military strategy that comes up, and at one point there's an arc where they bring an entire American PMC to attack a 200 year old dragon. It feels less like you're watching something cool happen and a little like a military soap opera. It's not bad at all it's just not great.
