Kunon the Sorcerer Can See · review

There are a lot of books like "my quiet life in another world doing X" where X may be smithing, cooking, running an apothecary or a store etc etc. For me most of them feel like the author is forcing their hobbies upon the reader and I just skip several pages at a time to see where the plot is going and then drop the series altogether. Kunon the Sorcerer is similar to these types of books (except it is not an isekai) but for some reason I liked it a lot. This light novel is focused on magic and on the process of learning it.Some of the questions about magic don't have answers so you are treated like a colleague and encouraged to think about it too. The pacing is slow and as of volume 3 there's no sign that this will change. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable read for me and the writing is funny and I'd say above average. So if you like slow life light novels give it a try.
