Season 2 continues its mediocre story telling from season 1. For example our protagonist is injured and yet he participated on contest/tournament? If the Demon threat is so real why focus so much time trying to take each other down? When some of the characters went into 'super saiyan mode' they had pointy hair... which looked silly. While I am not that impressed by over the top action using magic, I did like one fight in season 2 where the protagonist fought an older woman with mostly martial arts. The woman used 'Scorpion Stance'. When pure martial art is used without the flashy abilities its good. Thereare some cool moments but you need patience to get there as you have to go through slop which takes up much of the show. The side story about the primordial story spirit, Yaunbao was good. The show does dome things with colors during fight scenes that I haven't seen before and it looks impressive. As the season 2 ended, it got better and maybe I might check out season 3 if it ever comes out.
