Review of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)
It's really hard to talk about this season as a whole, because the qualify between different segments varies wildly. The good parts were as good as season 1, but to be blunt the Endless Eight Arc was repetitive. The Endless Eight arc was repetitive. The Endless Eight arc was repetitive. The Endless Eight arc was repetitive. I don't know how anyone could have thought this was a good idea, groundhog day plot-lines are well established, even in anime, and all this arc accomplished was torturing viewers. On the other hand the remainder of the episodes served to detail some of my favorite parts of season1, and for the most part managed to redeem this season, that is, if you really want to call it a season. In all honesty it felt more like a supplement to the first season.
I'd recommend this for anyone who enjoyed the first season, although if the deja-vu starts to get to you, feel free to skip ahead a bit.
