Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion
Like most people, i had seen Eva in various classic anime lists or in peoples top tens. Upon watching the series i felt that i had clearly missed whatever was supposed to be special about this series. Now i've come to see Eva as the Destiny of anime. its initial hook comes mostly in the form of interesting/unique character and world design, some action now and then, along with a few vague mysteries surrounding an imminent threat. Destiny only provides answers in its dlc, and Eva only provides answers in its rebuild films, of which there are 17. If you liked the story told inthose films then very well, but if in order to not only enjoy a series, but to also understand it you must watch what is essentially dlc, then the series does something wrong.
