Review of Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
The story centers around two assassins, called Ein and Zwei. It starts with a mysterious orgainsation, known as Inferno, taking Zwei in to be trained as an assassin. Ein and Zwei would eventually do missions together for Inferno. However, things aren't that simple in the underground (in the mafia sense) world. A dark tale of murder, betrayal and finding oneself unfolds. The show was highly action packed and thrilling. Both assassins who have no identity would eventually find themselves, after the long journey of murder, betrayal and acting as puppets. I loved the acting skills of both assassins in the stakeout sessions before the actual missions, though Zwei’s was usually a bit off. I felt that this further added to the thrill, yet also managed to add some light-heartedness. Further adding to the light-heartedness was the start of the second half of the show, where the assassins would act as high school students. The amount of light-heartedness might sound like a lot, but it’s just the right amount, which allows for an occasional break from the thrill and intensity of the action. The first opening theme was also quite haunting yet alluring. Personally fell in love with the insert song (which I linked below).

If you like a dark, espionage-like show with a good plot and featuring mafia families, plus well-developed characters, then this show is very worth a watch imo. The show features gunfights, so fans of guns and gunfights might be able to enjoy the show.
