First off, if you are the type who looks for spoilers to avoid certain topics. Don't watch this because the show contains it. WHATEVER IT IS, IT IS IN HERE. That said, DMC is a black comedy that highlights the duality of who a person really is verse who everyone else thinks they are. It follows Negishi, an aspiring pop singer who somehow becomes a successful singer/songwriter of a death metal band. A major part of the comedy is actually that crudeness that Negishi spews and the whole 'nice guy amongst a bunch of wolves' motif going on. It's like watching your very devout Christian friendcurse like a sailor at a malfunctioning computer or taking them to a warehouse rave and watching them mingle meth addicts.

While a part of the enjoyment is watching Negishi deal with everything, the real joy is figuring out the truth about Negishi. The man himself is as contrary as his stage persona. it really won't take long to realize that Negishi is an actual talented, charismatic person who does belong on the stage. The amount of showmanship he does is a bit ridiculous and, while he doesn't think highly of them, he does care for his fans. Plus, he is not as weak as he portrays himself. While not the one to 'deal the first punch' he does aggressively 'fight back against those who attack him and his.
Also, remember that while Negishi is complaining about the route his life went, this is the same guy who made a mixtape of hateful versions of his pop songs and sent it to a company called Death Records
