Review of Akira

The opening scene, the music, the animation. It was like nothing I had seen before. Epic. Oh my goodness, why do I have to write filler content to publish my short and sweet review? Okay so. It's got it all. An incredibly cool protoganist, a sleek and competent femal protagonist and a conflicted central character (Tetsuo) and his girlfriend. It's an incredible movie that has been endlessly replicated but it's a thoughtful and beautiful progenitor of anime. There might be no anime now without Akira or just endless Pokemon rubbish. Released in 1988, this film changed everything for me andprobably a lot of others too and incredible to think that in the same year My Neighbor Totoro was released.
