TL;DR It’s a good shonen and much better than season one but the praise stops there. For what it’s worth I believe this is one of the best shonen anime currently airing but it is little more than your typical modern shonen I believe if you enjoy that genre you may love this series but if your not a fan I would stay away. I personally really enjoyed the 1st half of season 2 as it developed the teacher characters by focusing on there past for a second and the fight scenes are great in the later half the only issue I have is the pacing andI’m honestly not a fan of Yuji he doesn’t really seem important and seeing the other characters for the first half of the season only made me care about him less.

I believe the pacing, fights and the story is all better in this season than the last but I still don’t find myself invested in any of the characters, Yuji the protagonist is laughably forgettable I heard in a interview that Yuji was originally not supposed to be the main character and I would believe it I can’t name a character in the show that is less developed than Yuji.

In other shonen like demon slayer, attack on titan and even older shows like Naruto still had me feel attached to the main character infact that was the main draw to see where there quest would take them and how it would affect them.
