Review of Texhnolyze
Seeing how many 10/10 this one is getting I felt a need to barge in. When I was first watching SEL, I thought something like “Damn, this one’s sure weird. It will probably be either really good or totally awful.” Well, when I was watching Texhnolyze, I thought the same thing, and I was right both times! The only difference is that SEL ended up being a 10/10 and Texhnolyze – a 1/10. So as a word of warning to any Lainbros out there since this is getting recommended – DO NOT watch. I was also deluded by the shills, otherwise, I wouldn’t have watched Texhnolyzeagain after dropping it 4 years ago. It has literally zero good things about it. It looks really bad. The soundtrack starts playing once in a blue moon. The story is rather predictable. You would think that because the dialogue is scarce it would be more meaningful. Nope. The characters are boring, and Ichise is definitely the most awfully written character I ever had to look at.
I think that dark, psychological, and violent themes can be a recipe for true masterpieces when done right. This is not the case here.
I hope this review helps someone to avoid this anime.
