The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest · review
Plot After being fired by an arrogant prince, MC joins his old party of classmates (childhood friends?) and decides to become the strongest adventurer party in the world. Meanwhile, there's a secret evil organization which is doing evil stuff in the background. Review This is strictly an average manga with full of cliche stories and characters. But it manages to have a clean structure in its story and feels polished. There is an overall plot in the background. The story is separated into arcs. Each story arc starts with our party going to a new place for a quest or training and accidentally getting caught up inthe schemes of the evil organization. Then, there's a climactic battle where MC's party members surpass their limits. The villains will then share their flashback/motivations. This almost feels like a shounen at times.
The magic system, the lore of the world, the motivations of character etc.. are all cliche. you can very much predict a character's dialogues by their tropes. There is a LOT of plot armor in every fight. Everyone's got a flashback (mostly tragic). There's very little fan service.
As I usually say in my reviews, some manga very clearly set the expectations from the first chapter and never disappoint you. This manga is average and we can see it from first chapter. It also deserves credit for consistency, as the quality never goes down for all the 80 chapters that I have read.
If you are bored and need something to pass time, this is the perfect series for that.
