Task force for the paranormal disaster management sounds cool at first but then you realise it is about Godzilla kind of creatures story. Which isn't an issue in itself but more about how the plot goes later on. It tries to show a semi realistic way on how society and the JSDF would handle such issue but like a lot of manga it suffer from exaggeration and un-realistic outcome. The art is a solid 8/10 coming from the author of Btooom! Rich in details, facial expression and accuracy in the lines, it feels clean. The story on itself is more focus on our female protagonist :Konoe Sakimori then YoshikazuYamato who appears time to time.
It tries to depict Japan as country that is taking the lead over the USA and China, putting those nations as antagonist to Japan.
Instead of going with a proper collaboration during disasters it goes with the idea that country self-interest are more important. Honor and keeping face is a must. So for people who are not doesn't know much about Japanese culture or new to it, it will be a frustrating concept to grasp.
My biggest grief is the lack of realism in the weapon and consistency. Without spoiling, the weapons works when the author decide them to work. The excuse for them not working is pretty flimsy as technically our real world weapons would decimate those monsters with less sacrifice then the author needs.
Which isn't good for his narrative, he needs tension, build up, challenge for our protagonist.
Those in search in proper military realism will absolutely not find joy in this as it is more frustrating then anything. It's like knowing a monster armour resist to 5.56mm bullets so let's use some 9mm bullet instead; that will surely work.
Overall, it's a mixed feeling and I rate it a 6/10 as like Btooom!, the plot suffers from the author gimmicks to build tension.
