Pretty cool anime movie. Not the best anime movie I've ever seen, and I've honestly only seen the first two or three episodes of the first season at the time of reviewing this, but this story is pretty self-contained, and that makes it watchable to just about anybody. That's what makes it good. One can watch this without ever having seen an episode of the anime and this will make you want to get into it. Don't ask me; I took my wife who has never seen this anime to the movies, and she now wants to watch the show proper. The animation style feltkind of hypnotic and trippy even though it was very straightforward and not deceptive or anything like that. Honestly, that's probably just because I had been drinking when I went to see this, but still. This was a cool movie to look at.

I'd say watch this if you're even remotely interested in the anime. It's campy, but so is pretty much every anime ever. It's not spectacular, but it's kind of impressive and definitely a fun watch.
