Class Teni de Ore dake Haburareta node, Doukyuusei Harem Tsukuru Koto ni Shita · review
Let's make one thing clear. If you're reading this review, you're probably already interested in the premise and in the sexual content that this title provides. If you're not, I'm not sure how you got here, but just skip this one because it just won't be your cup of tea. Leaving that disclaimer aside, I think this is a surprisingly good read for what should just be generic porn slop. For the first few chapters, it's pretty much what you'd expect: girl of the week shows up, has sex with the main character and joins the ever-growing harem. But that's only a prologue for what turnsout to be a competently written DnD session. Contrary to what you'd expect, the characters, both male and female, are not one-dimensional and they do have their own personalities which show up in their decisions which do affect the plot. And said plot is well put together, there's interesting reveals and twists that I would have enjoyed in a normal (non-ecchi) manga. Even the battle scenes are logical and interesting to follow, even if you're not always expected to take them seriously due to the (lascivious) nature of the work.
I always think that one of the best compliments you can give to a "porn with plot" work is to become invested in the plot to the extent where you'd read it even without the porn. Well, after around chapter 20 or so, that turned out to be the case for me with this work. I've grown invested in these characters, and there's several plot threads and character interactions that I'm looking forward to seeing.
There's only two caveats I'd leave you with before you decide to read this manga:
First, the English fan translation of it is not very good. If you can't read Japanese, think twice before getting into this because chances are that you won't understand a good chunk of the plot or the characters through the translation.
Second, there's very good criticism to be made regarding the morality of the main character's actions. In my opinion, the manga itself does a competent job of exploring said morality (or lack thereof) and it's a lot more nuanced than it feels at first glance. But I would be lying if I said I never felt uncomfortable or at least disappointed by actions taken by the MC. And to be fair, the majority fo the characters in the story seem to share this same point of view.
