Slime Tensei. Daikenja ga Youjo Elf ni Dakishimeraretemasu · review
(Only found 4/6 volumes translated) I honestly wonder if this was made to cash in on the success of Reincarnated as a Slime since there's kinda nothing to it. It's a short series obviously made to advertise the LN and draw more eyes to that. A great mage turns himself into a special evolving slime upon death. But instead of wandering the world or anything he ends up being captured by one of his adoptive daughters, "hilarity" ensues. There's some nice inner monologues about the nature of fatherhood and the MCs feelings about it, some scenes where the daughters talk about their feelings about their father and theirupbringing, but given there's basically no stakes it all just feels....directionless.
Like, it's decently written don't get me wrong, and adoptive kids/parents will likely relate to some of the things said, but given they come during moments where you can tell the "solution" will be underwhelming so the monologue IS the climax, it all just feels without payoff.
Honestly it's kinda just a popcorn read. You'll read it, cringe at the cringy moments, laugh at the funny moments, then put it down and probably never think of it again unless that thought is "why were there so many scenes of them bathing?"
