I'm typing this review after I read chapter 138 which seems to be the ending at least for the main story, there really isn't anything else left to do. I discovered this manga from the anime, I had it set as plan to watch for a while and saw it started airing and watched the first episode and thought, wow they did this series dirty. It's quite literally a manga animation. Oh and manga are normally black and white but this one was full color which I think is pretty cool. The art in this was pretty good especially with how Lua, Sven, and really all themajor characters were drawn. When it came to everything else it was typically just good which is perfectly fine.
Now this is why this isn't a 10/10 series and that's because of the story. The story in this is to be honest is mid at best, however don't disregard this series because I said the story was mid, read the next paragraph to see why I liked it so much. Now the story itself was bland and lackluster, there are times when random events are shown and our main characters just have a way too convenient way to solve the exact problem at that exact moment. The main villain doesn't have a lot of build up and the worst part about it all is that the main characters almost never lose besides like one or two times. There are basically no stakes in anything that happens because of the amount of times we've been shown the characters in bad spots get out quite easily the next chapter like nothing happened. There's a lot I could say about the story, really but if I'm gonna be real with you it's late and I wanna get to bed so I'm gonna wrap this up.
The best part about this by far is the romance and the only reason I stayed around. Yes it doesn't do anything special but the two characters (you know what I mean if you've read a decent amount of chapters) just fit each other so well, their chemistry is great. It's a nice slow burn that keeps you waiting but the ending is honestly worth the pay off.
Romance hard carried this rating and it's honestly kinda bias because of it. If I were being very critical about it, I'd give it a 4.
Originally I put Recommended but after reconsidering my thought process I've decided Mixed Feelings is better suited for this. If you love romance and are willing to sacrifice the story for it then read this, if not and you can't stand that kinda thing stay FAR from this series.
7/10 (Bias from just finishing it and the romantic payoff)
