'BanG Dream! We Had Some Fun!' is Season 1's OVA and for all intents and purposes Episode 14. It's not essential to watch and can be omitted without breaking the narrative of Season 1. Despite that, it's still worth watching. It's basically a beach episode. The Poppin'Party girls appear in swimsuits. Despite that, I don't feel it's indecent so the word fanservice did not even cross my mind. It's so wholesome. They are joined by the band Roselia who are struggling with writer's block in songwriting. They were on a retreat and were surprised to find Poppin'Party on the same beach. Both bands enjoyed their stay,and they had fun.

For 2/3 of the episode, it felt like an ordinary episode that's a notch below Season 1, but be patient. Something happens in the last part of the episode that makes me believe that it stays true to the spirit of BanG Dream Season 1. It's a heartwarming episode. Roselia might be their seniors in terms of experience, but it didn't stop them from being moved by Poppin'Party.

Poppin'Party may not be technically the best in their performance, but you can't help but be drawn to them. From initially thinking that this is a 4, I ended up giving this a 5, just like Season 1, a passing score.

NOTA BENE: A rating of 5 out of 10 means that 1) I find this anime to be average, 2) I enjoyed it to some extent, but it has some flaws. 3) Or simply, I rank it below my 6's but above my 4's.

A 5 means a passing score. If you're the kind of viewer who treats anything below a 7 as irredeemable, I'd encourage a broader, more nuanced approach to rating.

My enjoyment spectrum lies from 4 to 10. If I have scored an anime below 4, I actively dislike it.
