I really love anime that stays true to the artists intent and artistic style and sensibility. Dorohedoro does just that. The plot is somewhat meandering and the mysteries of the show build and build, without offering ANY answers whatsoever over the 12 episodes. This should really be a 24 episode run. That said, the show is saved by the immensely enjoyable characters and the absolutely gorgeous art. From the bumblingly goofy and ultra-violent Caiman, to the hilariously spastic Ebisu, to badass mo-fo couple of Shin & Noi. These are some of the most memorable characters I've come across. And, who can forget the Shockingly awesome Johnson!Above all, the favourite part of this anime for me is the art. As mentioned, it captures Q Hayashida's intricate, moody style that is immediately recognisable and incredibly dynamic.

If you're looking for a fun, whacked out, violent seinen, then you should check this out. It leaves a lot of unanswered questions and unfilled plot holes, but you can always go to the manga.
