Review of Vermeil in Gold
I was holding on to watch this for quite some time, but decided to give it a try to free myself from those generic isekai titles. It is somewhat what you'd expect from an ecchi anime, but surprisingly it didn't felt "generic". Story - (7/10): The story is a bit basic, the villains are kinda just there to serve the plot, so do not expect some pansophical debate regarding their actions. Characters personality - (6/10): The supporting cast is a bit disappointing, a lot of missing opportunities. Lillia has a lot of potential but is made to be just the losing childhood friend. Ecchi - (7.5/10): Is there, butis PG-13.
Animation - (8/10): Good. It didn't felt like a PowerPoint presentation and in today's reality this deserves some praise, I guess.
Voice acting - 8.5/10): Good, professional. It didn't lack commitment like 90% of other animes out there... it does not stand out but isn't lacking too.
The MC is like every other, suffering for being too naive and having no survival instincts... I do give credits for him at least not being your typical virgin MC, but he still too much of a push-over having "one note" type of personality. Vermeil herself is a good character being nerfed for plot’s sake, but overall good character. (We all came here for her, no need to lie about it)
If you compare this anime with the avalanche of generic isekai animes out there, this one feels like a 9/10, but I still give it a 7.5/10 for being good enough. I gave it the "Better than most Isekais" seal.
