Your Forma · review
As a one of 10 fans of this show (lol), I have to say the first episode managed to dragged me into the world of Your forme. While I do wish the it adapted the volume 1 of the novel (I am still dissapinted btw), I don't think it deserves such low reviews and rather overhated. Yeah, it’s not 100% groundbreaking since we’ve seen tech-based detective stories before, but the way it handles memory and emotions makes it feel interesting. Some parts of the mystery are a little predictable, especially if you watch a lot of crime anime, but I still enjoyed it because Ilike this kind of slow-burn, psychological setup.
The main character, Echika Hieda is smart and capable, but she’s not perfect obv, she has emotional struggles and moments where you can see the pressure getting to her. Her android partner, Harold "Watson" Lucraft is super calm and logical, but not in a boring way. Their dynamic is probably one of the best parts of the show for me.
I’d say this anime is for people who enjoy niche series, sci-fi mysteries, and slower-paced, more thoughtful stories. If you’re looking for nonstop action or crazy plot twists every episode, this might feel too slow. But if you like character dynamics and tech-heavy psychological themes, it’s worth giving a shot.
P.s. I am kind of grateful to this show as it somehow dragged me into reading Isaac Asimov's robot series too lol.
