Review of Dan Da Dan
Dandadan is good, but Okarun didn’t fully click for me. The story is wild, and the style is fantastic, but Okarun’s character feels like a stumbling block. I get that he’s meant to be awkward and a bit of a loser, but he leans so hard into his weirdness that it overshadows any sense of growth. Just when I think he’s improving, he resets, which makes it hard to stay invested in him. Momo, on the other hand, really makes the show work. Her character brings a sense of balance to all the craziness and keeps things moving forward. She’s well-written, and her interactions with thechaos around her add a lot of charm to the story.
While the over-the-top moments can be hit or miss, Dandadan is still a fun watch. It’s not my favorite, but Momo and the unique style make it worth recommending. 7/10.
