Review of My Clueless First Friend

If I could describe the main character in one sentence it would be this "Social Anxiety is scared of this guy" Taiyou the new kid is probably the most extroverted person in all of anime. Never before have I ever seen somebody speak their mind, not care about what others think or not let a single word effect them like Taiyou My Clueless First Friend is a really sweet story about an extrovert finding an introvert and becoming friends with them despite the fact they're disliked by the entire school for "being the grim reaper" due to having weird looking eyes. Despite the outcast, nasty things beingsaid and mistreatment Akane gets from her pears on a daily basis. Taiyou Takana still thinks the world of her and with literally no hesitation becomes friends with her and thinks she's the "cutest and coolest person ever"

I really like these stories about rooting for the underdog and wanting them to have a happy life and My Clueless First Friend does that in a really nice way. I do think they could tone Taiyou down a little bit and have the same effect on the story as sometimes he does come off as a little too excited which can get a little much. I was willing to drop it on episode 1 but I try not to drop animes until bare minimum episode 6 (unless it's terrible) - I'm glad I stuck with it though because I finished it in 1 sitting

I also really like that some of the kids came around on Akane and realized she's not actually scary.
