Adapting a music-focused series has its own challenge. Obviously, manga is only limited to visuals. I wouldn't be surprised if Paripi Koumei is one such adaptation that failed miserably in the audio department. Except that's definitely not what I get after watching this. Unexpectedly exceptional is what I would promote this series as. Putting aside the published genre, I must be one of many who hesitated when seeing either the promo poster or the title. To be fair, it's not an exclusive problem to this particular show since I have seen many similar cases. Glad I tried watching it. The show itself is pretty much straightforward. Althoughthe combination of music showbiz and a Chinese strategist isn't something you would see every day, the story itself is pretty much a predictable success story. The main selling story, aside from the cliche "it's not about the destination, but the journey," is the cast itself.

Combined with the superior animation brought by PA Works, I would say I enjoyed each time the show tried to depict each person who appeared. And as far as I can tell, the songs are also tailor-made to specifically support defining the character involved. Even with the choice to put separate voice actors for the conversation and the songs, they pushed through to make the difference in how they sound as neglectable as possible. They didn't spare putting their best to make this show.
