Fantastic animation and -direction, instantly lovable characters, and entertaining from beginning to end, are Chainsaw Man's best qualities. The music was also noticeably nice, but on my first watch I found it wasn't intrusive and I rarely noticed the tracks in more hectic scenes, even though when I did, it was always good. It has to be noted how impressive the fact that every single episode has an unique ending song and animation to compliment it. Most of the endings are also very impressive in animation quality, making some of them stand out and more memorable than most show's endings that run after every episode. Butthat's not all. Most episodes have a few minutes of recap, and every single one that i can remember, has completely unique animation compared to the previous episode, meaning the recap just re-does a scene from the previous episode, with new high quality animation to boot. I've never seen this done in an anime, and this makes me extremely impressed with the budget and the effort made by the staff, as much, if not more than the different endings, since I feel like many people will miss how many days they spent just to reanimate the recapped scenes on each episode that had a recap.

It has a great first episode that sells the premise well, and makes the main character likable in a matter of 10 minutes. It also doesn't seem to hit a lull, since we jump from great arc to another, each feeling like meaningful pieces in the show in one way or another, peaking around episode 8 for me.

The last three of so episodes were also enjoyable, but I did feel like the show blew it's load on episodes 8 and 9. In the end, the show does feel like we are going to be saving most of the exciting bits for future seasons, leaving me feeling something like the ending of attack on titan's first season, not that that's a bad feeling, I just feel like a season 2 would probably compliment this one.

Overall the show is a great ride, feeling like it would be preferably binged, rather than watched weekly, but not a single episode disappointed me when watching weekly.
