Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Have you ever regretted the past for not appreciating a past moment in your life in the ideal way and only a bitter memory remains that you cannot forget? Sousou no Frieren is the perfect example of this, if you are looking for a series of constant action, fights and an impressive story this work is not for you. This work begins after everything ends, normally this type of fiction works narrate the adventures of the heroes until they defeat the demon lord, but Frieren executes this the other way around in a very creative and innovative way. Its narrative simmers, but once you emerge in ityou cannot leave, constant reflections on life and the time in which we are alive, the importance and impact we have on the lives of others and they on ours. Frieren, the protagonist, has lived a thousand years and her life is almost infinite, although it may seem incredible, this punishes her because her perception of time is so altered that for her 10 or 20 years are the blink of an eye, causing her to not be aware of the great impact that others have on their long life... But this changes radically slowly and concisely.
We see the first episodes through Frieren's eyes, we witness his experiences and the passage of time from his perspective and everything happens in the blink of an eye.
After meeting the main cast of the series, this perspective becomes more realistic and seen from the viewer's point of view, time becomes more linear but constant before our eyes, we witness how Frieren and his companions undertake the wonderful journey , we see them interact, grow together and the resolution of their daily lives, thanks to this excellent execution, we, the viewers, are part of their lives and the path of the journey they travel.
Souso no Frieren has become important to me because it is easy for me to identify with the protagonist and su deep philosophy of time and life, regret little by little grows and attacks you when you least expect it, you realize things and their true meaning, you long to go back in time for live appropriately those moments but you collide with reality and you have no choice but to live with that emptiness, accept it and endure the pain until the rest of your days.
This work teaches you to focus on the now/present, living chained in the past only tortures you slowly, may the lessons you have learned throughout your life live with you forever and make you and those around you a better person, live and enjoy your day and that of your loved ones as if it were the last, this is something that many of us should do but unfortunately we are not aware of it until very late, regret will always come, even so there is no need to fear and embark on our journey .
I hope you enjoy this work as much as I do.
