Pokémon: Twilight Wings · review
As someone who hasn't watched a complete Pokemon series all the way through since Diamond and Pearl these shorts were a breath of fresh air from the typical Pokemon journey. The story of this seven episode series revolves around a few characters and their interactions all linked by a Pokemon taxi driver. Each unrelated characters story has great character development and slowly weaves the entire series together to pull out to a great conclusion. The art is superb compared to previous Pokemon series with highly detailed scenery and Pokemon. The music and sound matches up well to the moods displayed throughout the series. Although nothing to memorabledue to the briefness of each episode it allows for great immersion into the story.
As someone who has played Sword and Shield the characters matched up well with what I would expect them to act like. They are each humanized and displayed struggle that is overcame throughout the series making for some great expository to the game itself.
I enjoy Pokemon starting out from blue to the newest stories presented and although most of them are good if not fine to a reasonable person this short series is something that even non Pokemon fans would enjoy more than usual.
Overall I give this series a reasonable 8/10 and would recommend to anyone.
