Review of Plastic Neesan
With 30 minutes to kill, I decided to indulge myself in a comedic anime, hoping to have some giggles before I rest for the night. Plastic Neesan is an anime that is short and sweet. Simple yet delivers. Comedic and unfiltering. Overall, you'll find yourself enjoying that 30 minutes before you move on with your life. ※ Strength ※ - No filters. This anime clearly has no filter when it comes to cussing, sexual innuendo and maturity. That alone stands out from plenty of the animes I watch, let alone comedic animes. This is definitely a plus if you are a fan of these. - Physical Appearance. I personallyfeel like the anime brings out the personality in the characters rather than relying on cute and moe-looking characters alone. Letting a person's traits, feelings and way of dealing with situation tell the story is a strength I enjoy seeing.
- Interesting. Thirty minutes breezed by for me just like that.
※ Weakness ※
- Lack of plot development. There is no story. There is no progression. There is no advancement. Just girls doing stupid and funny things in their own ways. I, for one, would love to see how the story progresses as it would be a lot more interesting.
- Lack of character development. With no story progression, character development cannot co-exist. It would be intriguing to see how the character develops their personality as their school year goes on. I want to know each person's story and their love lives and so on.
- Time. This is the major problem since each episode lasts only 2 minutes. It is understandable that there will be a lack of those but I could see the possibility of implementing small personality changes of story progression. The route they took isn't for me, given I will simply forget it within 1 week.
Was it enjoyable? 30 minutes well spent.
Was it memorable? No. I wouldn't rewatch it because there's nothing special or unique about it.
Final thoughts? P good.
Overall, good anime to kill time with -- especially before bed. But in terms of the anime comedic world, it will ultimately be forgettable as it's just too short without any distinguishable characteristics.
