Ive put this anime on hold many times, watching the first episode a few times now, The show starts off with Jinta in his room being Neet, shutting out the real world and not going to school anymore, he has a girl called Menma constantly around him, who only he can see, she passed away years ago, throughout the show the others from their group Anjou, Hisakawa, Chiriko and Matsuyuki come together slowly because there all still suffering from the loss of their friend Menma. Some members such as Hisakawa and Matsuyuki believe that Jinta isnt jsut delusional and that Menma is still there, the femalesin the group have a one sided love for another from the group who love someone else, and Matsuyuki also loved Menma just as Jinta does, so their is a lot of one sided love and jealousy in this show.

Early on it focuses on Anjous love for Jinta and it showed through in the "nokemon episode", ripoff pokemon just incase you havent watched the show, and then it focuses on Matsuyukis love after he gets caught pretending to be Menma in the forest, then it goes a little onto Chirikos love for Matsuyuki,

I could get into lots of detail but id prefer you watch this show, SPOILERs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.
The group then believe that Menma;s still floating around because her wishes were unfulfilled, so they decide to shoot fire works into the sky and hope that she passes onto heaven, however shes still there, and after some heavy disappointment they come to find some letters from Menma for each group member, and she appears finally and says her final goodbye, this show is all about accepting death and a beautiful concept of fulfilling a dead persons final wishes, and that they loved her and still do.

It gets a 8/10 from me, decent show, and im looking forward to the movie.
