Review of High School of the Dead

This anime is amongst the worst tv series I’ve ever watched. HOTD tries to do everything that a good series must do but falls flat on its face. It seems like that the creators made a list of the things that they wanted to put in the series but didn’t give a single thought about how were they gonna execute them. The series fails in everything it tries to do whether it is providing a decent plot or character development or fanservice or action. The way HOTD handles these things is annoying. The story is your basic zombie apocalypse – people turning into zombies and attackingothers and our protagonists have to fight them in order to survive. There is nothing new that would grab anyone’s attention. And also, did I tell you that there are boobs in this anime?? Yeah, there are boobs and every female have a huge rack and they would remind you of that in every few minutes.

Now let’s come to the characters. They took every generic character ever and put it in the story. The characters are so annoying especially Saya Takagi that I wished that they get eaten. After the characters are introduced we are shown their vulnerable moments (you know character development right!) so that we know more about them and even relate to them but this is executed horribly. The timings they chose to do this were so bad that it feels like that they are doing it intentionally and HOTD is actually a parody of every zombie movie/tv series ever made.

One more thing that annoys me the most about HOTD is the fanservice. It never missed a chance to show jiggling boobs and panties even when they are not required. They throw them right at your face when you might be trying to focus on something that seemed to be interesting and is in the background.

The action is mediocre and sometimes feels forced.

The animation and voice acting are decent. And the music is really basic anime music.

So, overall this anime is one of the worst anime in existence. It has no redeeming qualities and is not worth your time at all.
