Love-Ru is great entertainment "with benefits". The first episode, where a girl from outer space arrives at a random guy's house, didn't completely convince me, but it was a necessary basis on which the creators were able to pack a lot of funny plots and a reasonable main story. Moreover, I was very surprised when, after the more comedic first two seasons, the third one started the story in a new and engaging direction (which I wouldn't have expected from this type of series).
