This anime is brutally emotional, and that's what makes it beautiful. It starts out a bit cheesy and cheerful, but really takes a dark turn in the later episodes. You get drawn in by the charm and weirdness, and then it just throws tragedies at you. There aren't a lot of random "light" moments in between the depressing parts, either. That's one of the things I liked best about it.
