LA watching Plastic Nee-san after the 4th time, LA thought it was time to actually write a review about this insanely slapsticky comedy anime OVA. The plot is about the daily lives of Iroe Genma, Hazuki Okamoto and Makina Sakamaki and their club activities of the Plastic Model club, but that is nothing but as it's more focused on Iroe, Hazuki and Makina's antics with each other as well as several other characters getting into the mix and ohh boy is the comedy golden here, especially if you love extreme character jabbing and just absurd levels of comedic actions and reactions. In terms of characters, Hazuki voicedby Yumi Uchiyama is your mature yet "not really" character, but is also the character that dishes out the most pain to Iroe and Makina, usually due to her dilated pupils is a clear sign that she's someone to be feared by, Makina voiced by Marina Inoue is the more shy character but she's also the more "normal" and responsible character out of the three however due to this, she's also the one that gets the most comedic "pain" both physically and mentally. Finally we have Iroe voiced by Mari Kanou, probably the main catalyst to most of the skits that occurs and is the instigator all due to her overall rambunctious and in your face attitude to almost EVERYONE she encounters including Hazuki, she is the best and LA's favourite character of Plastic Nee-san just for that as she gets majority of the good comedic skits and along with her voice actor Mari Kanou, there was no doubt Iroe was gonna get this spot.

There are other minor characters that comes into the mix and the more notable one goes to Satomi "Beauty" Ishihara voiced by Chiwa Saito, but she's usually has about 2 instances and both times she works wonders with Iroe's smack talking her and Beauty completely ignoring her insults. There is one other character LA will kinda mention and that would be Kuniki voiced by Kishou Taniyama and he has the most weirdest skit of the entire series...the less LA talks about him the better.

Comedy wise, the anime works off comedic action and reaction and taken both sides of it to the extreme in many cases. With the bratty half-pint yet HUGE ego of Iroe being the catalyst to Hazuki's no nonsense yet sadistic demeanor of how she dishes out punishment with Makina getting thrown into the crossfire the comedy is insanely amazing when it comes to quick comedy built up and the extreme result that it leads into. When it comes to the minor character focused episodes, more or less Hazuki, Iroe and Makina as a group act as the resulting reaction to the minor character in question (mainly Azuma and Beauty). Though Iroe does get time away from the main three and have her own skits with other minor characters (such as Iroe with Uno and Sano or Iroe with Mizuno), the best comedy lies when they are together not when they are separated.

Plastic Nee-san does have some fanservice here and there but besides the final episode (no seriously WTF was that Plastic Nee-san?), the fanservice again can be ignored due to the absurd comedy timing to it.

In terms of animation, the animation done by TYO Animations is "decent" at best especially when it comes to the exaggerated reactions, though the animation overall is ok at best with limited animation from it's chibi characters to it's backgrounding but that's just easily disguised by how the comedy is executed. Nonetheless the animation is just decent, especially expected of an OVA anime short series in the early 2010's.

In terms of voice acting however is where the voice acting is just AMAZING, again LA will praise Mari Kanou once again with her boisterous yet chibi moe vocals as she was undoubtedly LA's favourite voice actor (and seeing Mari Kanou's MAL filmography only having 4 voice roles to her name, LA wanted more roles for Mari as she has talent even from her role as Iroe alone), the other voice cast like Yumi Uchiyama and Marina Inoue as Hazuki and Makina was very well done, though Yumi Uchiyama was VERY playing against the type as her role as Hazuki. Chiwa Saito also has this in voicing Beauty as well though Chiwa's vocal chemistry to Mari Kanou only added to great voice cast. Overall, all because of the great vocal chemistry of Marina Inoue, Yumi Uchiyama, Mari Kanou and Chiwa Saito, it MADE this anime short that much better.

LA more or less writes this review for the passion as to why LA loves this wacky, insanely absurd anime short, LA knows this kind of anime comedy isn't for everyone, but by god, if LA still rewatches this anime short time and again and STILL laugh at it after the 4th time, then for LA, this is one of those anime shorts LA goes back to if LA wants to see this kind of comedy and LA KNOWS LA will rewatch Plastic Nee-san if LA ever wants to laugh out loud again.
