Anohana's greatest strength is its characters and the pacing of the story which is just a treat. If you don't enjoy the story from the get go, or at most episode 2, I don't think this anime is for you, especially given how great the two leads are. Its a short and sweet series with impeccable pacing. The payoffs weren't mind blowing but it was good nevertheless. In my opinion the story itself isn't the strongest by a long mile , neither are the themes the deepest. Its a letting go story, and finding lost youth. But Anohana doesen't pretend its anything too deep either. It focuses on the strengths of the characters, the realistic portrayals of each one's struggle over past regrets, and great chemistry between characters. There isn't much filler or fanservice either and the pacing just feels great.

Its even better than both the OP and Ending theme are brilliant.

If you're looking for a good time and like it from the get go this really won't disappoint.
