Review of Hunter x Hunter

I loved some of this show. It was developing well but fell off a cliff. To me it is a 10/10 show until season 5 (Chimera Ant arc). That season was poorly written, and got very childish in its tone. I'd still recommend HxH to some but personally I think it's quite over hyped as it never reaches the potential the show promises. It starts well and is very immerse. The characters are likeable and have a lot of intruige. Many of the characters have their own stories and goals which gives them much more dimension. Each season is a bit different from the last but all butone are tied together by something and follow pieces of the puzzle which begin 2 seasons prior.

The mystery and intrigued is built up very well but unfortunately there are many questions you won't find answers to due to the direction of the show later on.

I would have liked the show to get a bit darker and ad more a philisophical opinion to the piece. I think it attempts to but to me it actually gets much lighter and swaps dark themes for a little more gore and more fight scenes.

Overall the show had great concepts, some great writing at time. Slightly tainted by a very long, somewhat meaningless season that was like a rip off I'd DBZ.

10/10 for the first half though for sure!
