Panda and the Magic Serpent · review
Art : 7/10 Beautiful art, beautiful color considering the age of the movie. The version I watched was very well restored, maybe a contrast a bit too bright between the characters and the beautiful sceneries behind (not sure if it is due to the restoration or if it was present from the start). Character : 6/10 Beautiful characters, I like the drawing. Personnality-wise, the girls and the pets have well-defined personalities, the boy might seem a bit dull/depressed but it is almost always the case in these kind of tales, no matter what country (even Sinbad in most depictions looks like he doesn't belong here xD) Story : 6/10 Idon't know the original story behind the tale so I can't compare but the story is consistent and easy to follow, some shortcuts sometimes who makes you wonder what happened but it's rare. A very cute story with a nice classical ending.
Sound : 7/10
Nice music, beautiful and spot-on ambience music/FX, incredible for such an old movie. Not much to say otherwise since the movie is old and the quality of the sound obviously suffered a bit from it, even after restoration.
Personal enjoyment : 8/10
A bit slow-paced but still a very nice watch
Overall : 7/10
