Review of Hyouka

Coming into the series, I thought it was gonna be like Conan since this was also aimed at solving mysteries. But I didn't know what I was in for. Houtarou is a high school guy who is more on the lazy side, always on energy-saving mode. But the moment he met Eru Chitanda, the whole story changed. Eru is a very curious girl, who won't stop till she gets the answer. Because of this, Houtarou has to solve each and every question she brings to her. Then we have Houtarou's friends, Satoshi and Mayaka, who are more or less the same. While Hyouka can passoff for a normal show, what makes it different is the approach it takes. The mysteries aren't some mind-boggling or twisters but daily life issues. The way they are solved by Houtarou and the story around it is what makes it a great watch.

The relationship development among characters is great and the story progresses with each episode. The romantic advancements are very subtle but that's not the main topic in this show. The way they solved the mystery behind the name Hyouka was marvelous.

All in all, Go for it without any second thought. It's a great show
