Trigun Director: Satoshi Nishimura Music by: Tsuneo Imahori Original Creator: Yasuhiro Nightow 26 episodes of a masterpiece anime that mixed drama and comedy immaculately. Trigun found great popularity in the U.S., due to its run on Adult Swim's Toonami back in the day (2000's). It very excellently combined religion and pacifism in a morality story. Story (10/10): The first half of the series (Episodes 1-11) are very light-hearted and comedic in tone and nature and introduce the characters. You may be uninterested or turned off by its sillyness, but if all of Trigun was a ultra dark show with over-the-top mayhem (like Berserk), the charactersand their development (especially Vash the Stampede's) just wouldn't be the same. The second half of the series (Episodes 12-26) start to become much more dark and plot heavy and these episodes make you feel even more for our main characters - Vash the Stampede, Milly, Meryl, and Nicholas D. Wolfwood.

Art (8/10): The animation and art style of Trigun are pretty good, considering it was an anime produced in the 1990's. However, it is pretty much considered "mediocre" considering this anime was produced by MadHouse who produced some of the best and most popular anime series of all time (Death Note, Death Parade, One Punch Man, Hunter X Hunter (2011), Black Lagoon, Monster, Satoshi Kon's Paprika, and Hajime no Ippo). Despite the art not looking the best, I still quite enjoy it very much since it has that old-school 90's look to it since it actually did come out in the 90's (much like Berserk '97, Cowboy Bebop, Slam Dunk, Rurouni Kenshin and Outlaw Star).

Sound (10/10): I absolutely LOVE the series composition by Tsuneo Imahori. It is not too distinct, but gets the job done and is extremely memorable due to the timed music with the action and dramatic scenes, even (and especially) the comedic scenes.

Characters (10/10): The characters are enormously well-developed and human-like. Vash the Stampede is one of the most multi-personality characters in all of Anime. You'll always be asking tons of questions about him. Is he a womanizer or a gentleman? Is he a pacifist or a cold-blooded murderer? Is he ordinary under extraordinary conditions or is he extraordinary under ordinary conditions or is he both of one or the other? Is he a silly-billy or a dead-serious person? Milly is optimistic while Meryl is determined. Nicholas is a man who is very serious and is very similar but very different from Vash. A wonderful cast all in all.

Enjoyment (10/10): I absolutely adored this series as it is my second favorite anime of all-time. Cowboy Bebop is the only series that even remotely beats this series.

Overall (10/10): Despite the artwork not being the best, Trigun is a wonderful moral dramatic comedy series. If you hate watching anime that are long and have filler like crazy (Fairy Tail, Bleach, Naruto, etc.) and you just want a short but sweet series that will have you laugh out loud and cry all in just 26 episodes, give Trigun a chance. I'm positive that if you don't love it as much as I do, you will at least enjoy it very much. Trigun is my second favorite anime of all-time for a reason.
