Review of Banished From The Hero's Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside
Slice of Life Disguised as Isekai I started reading this because I was expecting a hardworking protagonist, but what I found was an MC who had everything handed to him. The author deceived us right from the start. First, the title is misleading—the MC wasn't actually banished from the hero's party. He left on his own accord, even though the person who supposedly "banished" him had no actual authority to do so, since they weren’t the hero. Absurd premise. So why did the MC leave? No idea. The plot doesn’t explain it with any logical consistency. Speaking of inconsistencies, there are dozens of them. The MC genuinely believes he'sholding the party back, but the story clearly shows that isn't true. Another deception. He’s inexplicably perfect at everything he does, yet constantly sees himself as mediocre—which makes absolutely no sense. He’s great at sword fighting, somehow even better than someone with the Champion’s Blessing. He excels in combat despite lacking a martial arts blessing. He’s an expert at herb gathering without the related blessing, an outstanding cook without a cooking blessing… the list goes on.
And apparently, in a single day, the MC manages to:
- Gather herbs from the forest
- Cook every meal
- Brew hundreds of potions
- Manage a shop
- Sell potions around town
- Play with the local kids
- Take time to relax
- Help others with ideas
- Plant herbs
- Fulfill hospital orders on time
- Invent new herbal applications
How? Are their days 240 hours long?
