So let me get this out of the way- if you enjoyed last S3 (part 2 that is), you'll probably enjoy S4 here too. If not, you're gonna be pretty miserable. I'm not gonna lie- I'm binging all the seasons so at this point my perspective may be a little skewed. I know a lot of folks don't rate this season very high (due to it's score), but here me out- I think it's still good. Not season 1 good, but it's very enjoyable. That said, there were a ton of bad as well. I'll try to keep this short and name 3 positives and3 negatives.

Positives
1. The Shokugeki's- a staple in every season, it's still damn good as always this season. I will never not laugh at the over the top reactions filled with ludacris explaination. Might be my favorite thing about this show. The details they go into are marvelous.

2. The storyline - okay, it's nothing special and is quite predictable, but does wrap up the arc very well. The last battle was amazing. I guess I just like how the pieces all fit in the final episode. The main villain had a decent motive, the good guys battled hard, and there were tough obstacles to ovecome. It's a feel good story.

3. Erina- FINALLY! I knew her character development was going to be good. They basically dedicated the later half of season 3 and this entire season to her character, and it pays off. The God Tongue slowly becoming her own person, and she takes charge in the end. In fact, I like her so much she has officially my favorite character in the show.

Negatives
1. The Elite 10's- they were built up to be extremely badass, only to be taken out in like, 3 episodes. All very interesting and had so much potential, especially Tsusaka and Rindo. It's a shame they didn't get more screen time and back story. I hope in the future those two return cause they were amazing. Anyways, yeah prepared to be disappointed by how weak the Elite 10 are.

2. The Team Shokugei- Okay, how can I say I like the shokugeki AND storyline, and put this here? Simply put it- tournament arcs can suck if not done properly. I feel this falls in that category. There was a point were I think it was 4 straight episodes of just battles battles battles. It gets repetitive and watered down- despite the shokegui's themselve being good.

3. Soma!!!!!!!! Damn. I crowned him too soon. Season 1 and 2 I was placing him in top 10 (maybe even 5) MC of all time. Wow- they really screwed over his character. Put simply- he's still the same guy with the same morales since episode 1. Yeah- no development. The dude's also a complete freaking moron. He jeapordizes his teammates just cause he can't execute basic communication. Even Erina, who's been sheltered from friendships and the public, easily becomes a better leader, teammate, friend, AND person. That's right- Soma is a dickhead. He doesn't really give a shit about anyone or anything except his cooking. Okay, so he did save his friends, but that's only BECAUSE he wants to further his cooking. Look- I like MC's who aren't pansy like Kirito, but I also don't like it when they're dumb as Monky D. Luffy. Basically in the end- he's a very one dimensional character who you'll get bored of very fast.

So yeah, that's my review. It's harsh, but I still give it an 8/10 because I still enjoyed it. Now onto the last season we go.
