Kuroinu II The Animation · review
Kuroinu II: The Animation is the adaptation of the visual novel 'Kuroinu 2 — In'yoku ni Somaru Haitoku no Miyako Futatabi' by the company Liquid, presented as an episode released in the year 2021. This anime serves as a spiritual sequel to the earlier series of the same name. The story unfolds this time in the western lands of the continent of Serenus, at the heart of the nation of Negramstia. A century after its inception, this nation had reached the pinnacle of prosperity only to plunge into decadence under the reign of the formidable Empress Radmila and her extraordinary powers. Other nations, no longer ableto tolerate this immorality, decide to unite and form a 'Holy Alliance' to counter Negramstia. In response, Dyrek Rondo, considered the new incarnation of Vault, the leader of the Kuroinu, is sent by Empress Radmila to annihilate this Alliance. However, Dyrek also pursues his own ambitions: to seize the throne and subjugate the women of the Holy Alliance, as well as Radmila, his very own Empress.
It is challenging to follow up a reference in the hentai sphere like the first Kuroinu series, which was produced by the Majin studio. Comparisons can be excruciatingly unfavorable, as this sequel falls short in every aspect. Studio Seven takes the helm for this adaptation, and it must be noted that the animation quality is abysmal. Those who were fortunate enough to experience the visual novel were able to appreciate the remarkable work of Hikage Eiji on the scenes and characters. Similarly, the work of tsukitokage in the paper version far surpasses the animation and the visuals, which are impoverished beyond description. To be honest, this adaptation project is a disgrace: the scenes are poorly executed, and the characters have lost the beauty that defined them. The only redeeming aspect is the quality of the voice acting.
In conclusion, Kuroinu II: The Animation is a shameful follow-up to a beloved franchise. I am unsure whether the blame lies with Studio Seven or someone else, but I absolutely do not recommend this hentai and would prefer to direct you to the first adaptation by Studio Majin. I hope that someday another studio will undertake the task of delivering an adaptation that truly reflects the quality that this visual novel deserves.
