Review of Horimiya
I did not expect to end up loving this as much as I do. Story: Horimiya has a fairly standard base-story about two people that never really interacted or cared about each other getting closer thanks to some coincidence or another and going on to become friends and eventually more. It is nicely executed and personally speaking very heartwarming and fun most of the time but except for some details probably nothing you haven't seen before. Characters: Even though there are a whole bunch of characters they are all unique and portrayed in a way that makes it easy to understand their feelings. They are believable enoughto make you care about them yet exaggerated enough to pull off it's jokes. I feel it's very easy to keep track of the emotional status of the characters by simply following them through the episodes and watching them grow.
Art:
The art and animation is consistently good with the world looking beautiful most of the time. Sure there might be moments when it's not beautiful but just plain good but when at it's best the question of how beautiful should it be seems to have a resounding yes as an answer.
Sound:
I like the opening and ending and I think the soundtrack is nice, though I do admittedly have an issue with remembering soundtrack in anything. Also I personally think the voice acting is absolutely great.
Enjoyment:
I have not been this glued to the screen while watching something in a while and it felt great to be sucked into the world of Horimiya. I will admit it isn't perfect and I do have my gripes with it but I whole-heartedly loved every second anyway.
Should you watch Horimiya if you haven't done so yet? If you like romcoms I'd sure encourage you to watch it and even if you don't I'd love for you to give it a try but in the end it's for you to decide.
