Review of My First Girlfriend is a Gal
I wanna start off with a quote from Teoman “ravend” Taşçı’s song “Amcık Mecnun Amcık Kerem” which contains lyrics that expresses my feelings for this anime pretty well. “Am I a faggot like Majnoun to die for a pussy? Fuck Layla, and fuck Majnoun as well!” and yeah, the “…die for a pussy” is low-key true for the main character of the story, Junichi Hashiba, whose determination for that coochie is so unknown, it’s a whole mystery. The story lacks substance, other than the ulterior message of “do not think with your dick in romance, romance isn’t just about sex” yet that message is mostlyoutweighed by the fan-service which is mostly used for incel bait. I actually do like that part, yet the fan-service was really a turnoff for me. Let me talk about the story a little. Basically, the whole class is making out and the four nerds of the class, Junichi Hashiba, Minoru Kobayakawa, Shinpei Sakamoto and Keigo Ishida, are the only ones excluded from this. Frustrated by this, the “gang” decides to read some porn mags, and then the main girl, Yukana Yame, sees the gang, and especially Hashiba, reading them porn mags. The gang, upon seeing Yukana, says “someone should fuck this girl” and guess who they chose for this “sacred mission”? Yeah, of course Hashiba. After that, he straight up gets on HIS KNEES AND PROSTRATES IN FRONT OF HER! LIKE WTF- OH MY GOD! Anyway, their relationship after this seems like it’s sailing smoothly, but then, a wild skank appears, or more like, multiple wild skanks appear.
Meet Ranko Honjou, the first skank. She’s a lesbian who loves Yukana, yet she tries her best to seduce Hashiba so that Yukana would leave him alone, since he cheated on her with her best friend. To her, she’s Yukana’s white knight, or more like, her black knight, if you know what I mean.
Our second skank, Yui Kashii, takes skanking to another level. She looks straight up innocent, like, you wouldn’t suspect shit if you saw her, at least Ranko looks low-key sus. Good luck trying to notice what type of skank she is, as she’s such a good bootlicker that she can even be able to bend them teachers to her will, nah, she’d for real take out Maria of Kimizero in a skanking competition.
Skanks aside, I think that Minoru guy should be just locked up, I mean, just take out the “u” outta his name and it spells “minor”. He legit asks “does Yame have a little sister in elementary?” when the main guy Hashiba tells the gang about the affair. BRO YOU TRYNA BE FUNNY OR WHAT, HUH? I swear to god, this guy be driving the “free candy van” all day.
As for the animation and the art quality, well, I can say that the dudes at NAZ fucked up with the character design. When I take a look at Gal-sen, another manga by the same author which I pretty much fuck with to be honest, I can’t help but think ”bro, how the fuck did Hajigyaru turn out to be like that?” Well, I guess turning the studio into them fairy chimneys doesn’t work with bringing dem fairies out, since it clearly didn’t work here.
Overall, I can say that this was the worst anime I’ve ever watched that contained at least some type of gal type of characters. I’d give it some extra points because of the message it tried to give, yet the execution was really ass, it’d deserve an 8 or 9 if they could execute it well. I wanna end this review by quoting “Amcık Mecnun Amcık Kerem” yet again. “Karam be a cunt who drills them mountains, Asli be banging here and there, it ain’t worth it for some chick, everywhere is pussy for the guy who can screw well.” Well, can Hashiba screw well? Hell nah, and that’s probably why he ended up with Yukana…
