Review of Attack on Titan

I have long stated that I thought AOT was overrated in the zeitgeist, and I stand by that after watching all of season one. While the art style is nice, the long still frames were unnecessary and frankly kind of annoying. The only characters with anything truly interesting going on are Levi and, to a lesser extent, Eren's dad. Otherwise I struggled to care about any main characters or their motivations. Eren's frequent screaming rants were far less effective than the ultimate famous yapper Naruto Uzumaki. Eren just came off as overly dramatic and kind of a crybaby. Initially I wanted to like Mikasa but asthe season went on there wasn't much going on with her character other than her unwavering obsession with Eren. While I appreciate her "origin story" I was disappointed by her lack of...well.....personality. I am geniunely hopeful that as I progress through the series she will have more depth and something to talk about that isn't Eren.
