Review of Black Clover

Fight scenes and animation good, especially towards the end of the anime (which it is where it actually starts to get really fucking good, tensions are high, people actually die, etc.) However the first 75% of the anime as a whole is quite unbearable. Loud annoying main character, 2 dimensional side characters that barely get any personal growth other than their power increasing, some braindead dialogue (count how many times ''I'm going to become the Wizard King" is said in the first couple of episodes holy cow. The constant flashbacks and filler episodes made the pacing and overall presentation pretty jarring and repetitive, some episodeswouldn't start until the 6th minute with how many recaps they made. Twist and turns were made super obvious leaving little to no suspense, but that could be down to a younger audience being the target for this anime. Overall story was interesting enough (even if somewhat derivative), combat was great, it's just a lot of the characters that ruin the potential of this anime for me.
