This anime knew what it was and stuck to it all the way to the end, even if it didn’t work all the time. Despite how cute the chibi Roka is, this show struggled at its most dramatic, namely a two parter in the middle of the season and the three part season finale, which this show didn’t really need to have because this show was actually funny during the four panel episodes. As entertaining as a lot of these character dynamics were, I think the worst part of it all was trying to force “romantic competition” for Kenji in the form of a masochistwho can’t take no for an answer. At the end of the day, it is probably better that this was only one season 11 years ago, because a second season wouldn’t fix any of the problems.
