"But Ganji, this movie is LITERALLY lost! How can you give this movie a two if you've only seen 16 minutes of it!? What type of rating is this!? You are a damn hack!" I don't care. This is NOT Fei Ren Zai. This is NOT Fei Ren Zai in any way, shape, or form. This is a living skinwalker of a product, literally the shoddiest, shittiest poop from a butt you can ever animate. Imagine this: You have a great franchise with a slice-of-life charm, chinese mythological beings living their everyday and doing whatever. That's great. Really great! I loved it! The series was funny, heartwarming, andit had everything going for it when I watched those short episodes. First time I've been hooked onto something like this since a long time!

Now, after finishing watching all those great two seasons (season three had a somewhat downwards spiral, but it was still good), turns out there's a little thing I was missing.. A movie from the series, one that looked great. Genuinely good looking movie! Jiu Yue looked a bit weiird, but I didn't mind it at all! It's a nice style that fits the franchise going into the movies, and I can get behind it! It has mixed-animation sometimes, the characters look great, but..

Here's the thing.

This is not Fei Ren Zai.

This is literally, the most generic fantasy setting you can ever come up with. A light novel artist can literally make this in a whim. It has all the same five seconds of worldbuilding, the same five gags, and the Fei Ren Zai characters don't even do anything! Not only could you have changed them to random OCs, it doesn't take advantage out of these characters without going into the exact same five gags the series already does! Not to say that I don't dig the idea, but there's just nothing in here! Beyond the decent looking animation, this movie has NOTHING going on for it! At one point, they're shoving in a queerbaiting duo for the fujoshi who do nothing but be queerbait! And even then, I've checked and NOBODY likes these characters! They only exist for the sake of having movie-original characters, to the point where even the main cast doesn't get to do a lot! The voice acting sucks, and Jiu Yue has been pretty much boiled down to another generic shonen main character, and it's just not like the series. Nothing here actually fits the series, and it's weird.

It's not even funny. That's how bad it is. These are all the same jokes, I genuinely cannot explain my hatred against these gags, they're all the same boring shoddy jokes. As much as I'd like to elaborate on this, I've only seen a quarter of the movie, but that's all I need to know my issues with it.

I'll update this review when the full movie gets found, but chances are that my rating won't go up. Sorry.
